Fatou will be performing her sweet smoky rhythms that originated from a homeland she escaped but one in which her art still resides.

Her much-anticipated spring 2018 record follows her critically acclaimed debut album Fatou (2011), which was the No.1 album on the world music charts for six months in 2011.

Carnegie Nexus commissioned four writers to write about their encounters with museum artworks and natural specimens. Join us for a live performance of newly crafted prose, sci-fi, and poetry by, among others, Toi Derricotte, award-winning poet and Cave Canem co-founder; and Tom Sweterlitsch, author of the Pittsburgh-based sci-fi novel, "Tomorrow and Tomorrow."
